Ubisoft has confirmed release windows for some upcoming games it believes will contribute to significant “revenue growth” for the company.
The games that Ubisoft specifically mentioned are Avatar: Pandora’s Frontier, Mario + Rabbit: Spark of Hopeand skull and bones.
This diverse lineup of games is expected to be released during the 2022-2023 fiscal year ending March 31, 2023.
It appears that Avatar: Pandora’s Frontier will still be released this year. “Avatar 2” may be released around the same time, which is December 17th.
Ubisoft announced back in 2017 that it was working on a game based on James Cameron’s Avatar, and since then we’ve heard very little about the series, other than that it will be a first-person war-focused first-person game Action adventure game. The Na’vi were against humanity and their Pandora industrialization.
Developed using the Snowdrop engine, the game was developed for the new generation of consoles Luna, PC and Stadia.
Through Skull & Bones, Ubisoft is currently hosting an Insider Program for the game, allowing testers to play early versions in real-world conditions. Those in the program will broadcast the builds currently in progress and assist the development team by reporting issues, bugs, and general feedback.
More recently, a tutorial clip for the current beta version leaked last month, providing a ton of new information about the title, which started out as a cooperative multiplayer event for both PvE and PvP.
Announced at E3 2017, Skull and Bones has been in development since 2013 and began as a fork of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Instead of being released as a post-launch update, the project became its own title and was developed at Ubisoft Singapore. It was originally slated for a 2018 release, then pushed back to 2019. In May of that year, the game was again delayed to Ubisoft’s 2020/2021 fiscal year.
Mario + Rabbids Fire of Hope was announced in June 2021, in which you will form your own team to fight “evil entities” and save your fellow Spark. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Luigi are the stars of the game, which features a campaign full of new and classic Mario bosses. You can also rescue more sparks, which in turn give you unique abilities to use in battle.
Last time we heard, it was slated for release sometime this year.
