Avatar: The Last Airbender is getting an official open-world RPG called Avatar: Generationsdesigned for mobile devices.

developed by Square Enix London Mobile work together navigation game, Avatar: Generations will be a free-to-play game based on the Nickelodeon series. The game is scheduled to begin trial runs in Canada, Denmark, South Africa and Sweden, with more regions to follow in the coming months.

The game is currently only planned for release on mobile devices, for Android and iOS, although the game doesn’t appear to be starting to work on all iOS devices.

It sounds like the game will recreate the events of the show, with the press release stating “The first chapter introduces Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki, and Zuko, who, accompanied by beloved companions Appa and Momo, begin a Travel around the world to fulfill Aang’s destiny.”

Considering that Aang’s fate is more or less complete by the end of the show, it sounds like we’re getting a recap. Apparently, the game is planning to expand to include avatars of characters like Korra, Kyoshi, Roku, and more.

It’s unclear exactly what the game will look like, other than that it has “squad-based combat and unique adventure sequences,” as well as a “deep upgrade and party customization system” that allows players to recruit new heroes.

Players will also have access to “fan-favorite locations, stories, and events,” which will also feature some new stories.

“We’re delighted to launch Avatar Generations as the second official title from Square Enix’s London Mobile production, and I can’t wait for players to dive in later this year,” said Patrick Nord, Head of Mobile, Square Enix Montreal Say.

The specific release date of the first soft launch has not yet been determined, please pay attention to the official website for more information. To be clear, this has nothing to do with the recently delayed Avatar: Pandora’s Frontier, a completely separate Avatar universe that has caused minor confusion over the years.
