AVM releases an update for the Fritz!Smart Gateway. It significantly expands your options in a Fritz!Box-based smart home.
Until now, it was difficult to connect smart home devices from different manufacturers. This also applied to products from the Berlin company AVM. Third-party devices could only be integrated if they support the DETC-HAN-FUN or Zigbee standards. This is now changing with a new update.
Fritz!OS 7.63 for the Fritz!Smart Gateway is now available for download. The update makes the smart home control center compatible with the new Matter smart home standard. Matter is a manufacturer-independent standard for connecting smart home products from different brands.
Matter makes networking easier
Accordingly, for example, the smart home sockets from Fritz! Pair with motion detectors from other manufacturers. The possibilities for comprehensive and uniform integration of various “smart” communicating devices in a house are becoming diverse. It is now also possible to control your AVM-based smart home by voice via Alexa, Siri or Google.
The update therefore offers a valid argument for purchasing AVM Smart Home products such as the smart door/window contact Fritz!DECT 350, the radiator controller Fritz!DECT 302 or the intelligent lamp Fritz!DECT 500.
