Avowed offers some news, especially regarding its structure and its lifespan. Very important points for the majority of players. What do we know?
Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment’s next RPG, is generating a lot of anticipation among fans of the genre. When it was originally announced, many envisioned a game on the scale of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. However, the developers quickly clarified that the approach would be different, favoring a more focused and structured experience. What can we learn?
Avowed talks about lifespan and structure
How we can learn about GameInformerAccording to game director Carrie Patel, Avowed will offer a playtime comparable to The Outer Worlds, another 2020 Obsidian hit. Depending on your playstyle, you can expect an experience that will last between 15 and 30 minutes. Players who enjoy exploring and engaging in side quests will have plenty to do, while those who prefer to focus on the main story will be able to complete the game more quickly.
Unlike a single, massive open world like Skyrim, Avowed will feature a series of interconnected open areas. These areas will be unlocked as you progress through the game, allowing for more focused exploration and structured storytelling. This design is very reminiscent of that of The Outer Worlds, where fragmented maps allowed for free but limited exploration.
The quests and narrative structure of Avowed will also be similar to those of The Outer Worlds. With multiple possible endings, the game promises high replay value and allows players to experience different sides of the story and characters.
An “upcoming” release
Scheduled for release this fall on Xbox Series X/S and PC, Avowed is highly anticipated. While the exact release date is yet to be confirmed, leaks point to a November release. Microsoft also announced that the game will be shown at Gamescom in August, promising new information and possibly an official release date.
