It had been hinted at recently, and now it’s official: the RPG hope Avowed has been noticeably postponed. The release will now actually not take place until next year, 2025.
In the last few days, rumors have picked up speed that the role-playing game Avowed might miss its planned release th is fall. Now it’s official: That’s exactly what’s happening!
The Xbox team has now announced via X aka Twitter that Avowed has received a new release date. The title developed by Obsidian Entertainment will now only be available from February 18, 2025, which finally confirms the latest speculation.
According to the social media post, the reason for the postponement is that there are already so many well-known titles this fall. To that extent, Avowed is voluntarily taking a step back, wanting to give itself and the players more room to breathe and hoping that Avowed will be able to develop its full potential at the beginning of the new year, when there is not as much well-known competition as there was in the fall.
Avowed was actually supposed to be released in November 2024 – and that’s the month with the most notable releases of all. The title will thus be given three whole months of additional time, which will be good for fine-tuning the role-playing game, even if it is essentially a strategic decision. In concrete terms, Avowed is avoiding heavyweights such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle or Starfield: Shattered Space.
Avowed will be released on February 18, 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
