New screenshots and a trailer show once again what a tremendous graphic performance the Microsoft Flight Simulator can offer – the new video focuses on the multiplayer components of the game and brings some new details to light.
Multiplayer with 100,000 players
In the trailer, CEO of developer studio Asobo, Sebastian Wloch, presents some of them Details of the multiplayer in front:
Thanks to the fact that all air traffic in the game takes place in one and the same world, you do not have to laboriously join a lobby or similar. According to the developers, you just start the game and you're right in the middle of it. If you cancel a game session, the AI takes over and flies the plane for you.
Since the developers are also aware that there are different types of players who want to have fun in the game in different ways, several filters have been implemented in the game. Depending on which one you activate, you will only see a certain group of players.
These filters look like this:
- Live mode: For players who are looking for a real simulation. Weather and time correspond to the real world and everything takes place in real time.
- All players: Weather and time are in your hands, the fun of flying around is the focus here.
- Groups: A player creates a session with certain rules. Other players can join this group and get the same rules.
And another interesting detail was revealed: Even if, according to the developers, hundreds of thousands of players are playing on the same server at the same time, not all of these players will be visible to you. The game automatically optimizes the data that your device receives to ensure the best possible immersion.
Regardless, the game does not necessarily show you all the players that would be visible to you. This display and the distance from which you can see other players depends on your graphics settings.
However, there was still no information from the developers on some topics of interest to the community. Neither that Release date nor the Raytracing support are certain, which will probably only make waiting for the fans more difficult.
