By now pretty much everyone has noticed that Babylon’s Fall was quite a shot in the oven. But now the game has hit a new low on Steam and it’s really sad.
Babylon’s Fall isn’t exactly making the tills ring at Square Enix and Platinum Games. The game found only a few interested parties when it was launched in early March and the number of players has c ontinued to drop since then. The peak number of concurrent players on Steam so far has been 1,166 – that’s really not much.
But anyone who thinks it can’t get any worse is wrong. The game hit an all-time low on May 4th, just two months after release. A single player… ONE… dealt with Babylon’s Fall that day. So the title is certainly one of the flops of the year.
The developers don’t seem to mind, because it was confirmed some time ago that the development of the game should continue without any cutbacks. In addition, the content for Season 2 is almost complete and the development of Season 3 is already in full swing. The only question that remains is who cares. A second spring for the game seems unlikely given the number of players.
