The co-op shooter Back 4 Blood from Turtle Rock Studios receives a major free update with fresh content around two months after its release.
Developer Turtlte Rock today released the big free December update for Back 4 Blood. Above all, this brings with it a solo offline campaign mode including a progress system, but also thematic holiday content, new maps, new map types and other game improvements.
In offline campaign mode, you can rush into battle alone to earn supply points, achievements and other unlockable extras. In addition, any progress can also be transferred to the online campaign mode.
The December update also introduces wandering merchants who provide a time-limited opportunity to receive rewards; these can be activated via those supply points. This will also allow you to unlock, for example, the new seasonal character skins, weapon skins, emblems and graffiti, including the ability to receive a reindeer antler headband for Holly, a snow hat for Doc and other gear to celebrate the holiday.
In addition to this, there are also new cards waiting for you, called “Burn Cards,” which can be purchased from wandering vendors. These can be used in any hideout for temporary effects like instant healing, a boost on currency, increased resistances, and more.
The most important new features of the update at a glance:
- New solo offline campaign mode with progress system
- New supply lines with roving traders
- New seasonal character skins, weapon skins, emblems and graffiti
- New cards and a brand new card type: Burn Cards
- New zombie practice area
- Fort Hope with festive decorations
- Jukebox music can now be adjusted using the music slider
- Random character bot for solo mode
