Back 4 Blood, the unnamed Left 4 Dead 3, was announced in March 2019 and is still in development. It is slated to be released on October 12th after it was released on June 22nd. Today Turtle Rock Studio presents and details its map system.
The card system, and we’re not talking about cards, plays a central role in Back 4 Blood. The latter aims to achieve tremendous replayability by changing many aspects of the game. As the developers explain, over time it will be possible to collect lots of cards and create decks to create ultra-personalized games. No microtransaction is planned for this system, which should reassure a majority of the players. We’re talking about changing the game conditions, adding challenges, changing the environments or the types of infected people to fight. For those who would feel lost by the many options on offer, the developers have planned a quick mode that will be a deck for them.
