The highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake was last shown at the Xbox Games Showcase and was the subject of an alleged release date leak that has since been debunked.
During its appearance at Summer Game Fest 2024, Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake didn’t even announce a release window. In line with pre-orders for the game that launched on Monday, GameStop gave an incorrect release date and quickly had to backtrack.
Since M onday, fans have been able to pre-order Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake in a base version or a collector’s edition for $199.99, currently unavailable in Europe. To match this announcement by the indescribable David Hayer, the original voice of Snake, GameStop published a post on X.com with the release date. The now-deleted post stated: ” Get ready to slay in the Snake Eater remake. Where stealth and survival meet ferocity! Scheduled for release on November 17, 2024. Pre-order now
However, this was a terrible mistake, as there is currently no date or definitive release window for Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. GameStop had to quickly backtrack by deleting its publication and replacing it with another one that was intended to clarify the situation: “ Our previous pre-order post contained an incorrect release date. For more information, please contact Konami
As a reminder, the original game was released on November 17, 2004. Perhaps this is the reason for the confusion and error of the person responsible for writing the GameStop release. However, if we consult the calendar, we see that November 17 of this year falls on a Sunday. Which unfortunately does not fit with video game outings that generally take place on a Tuesday or Friday. Big Boss will therefore have to wait wisely in the jungle for Konami to call him back to duty in this promising remake under Unreal Engine 5, expected at an as yet undetermined date for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
