Baldur’s Gate 3 is already very beautiful in its own right, but it becomes even more beautiful on PC thanks to a series of additions that increase the size of each texture, provided you have the appropriate machine.
Since the release of the famous Patch 7, which gives the community every opportunity to modify the game as they wish, Baldur’s Gate 3 is more than ever equipped with constantly new features. Whether new features, gameplay elements or an even bigger overhaul. It is precisely this last point that interests us here, with a truly colossal package of textures that expands absolutely every corner of the Forgotten Realms.
Modders are working their magic on Baldur’s Gate 3’s graphics
With Baldur’s Gate 3, the independent developers at Larian Studios have outdone themselves and presented us with one of the most complete and beautiful C-RPGs to date. Of course, there’s always room for improvement, and that’s exactly what modders have been able to bring to the game since the release of Patch 7. On the graphic side we can cite in particular WestAard’s BG3 Texture Upscale Project. As the name suggests, this mod, currently only available for PC, offers the ability to increase the resolution of textures to make them sharper. In particular, we are talking about textures that are rendered at a resolution four times higher than that of the base textures. Be careful though, this massive mod weighs in at a hefty 27GB.
WestAard also states that its mod does not improve all of Baldur’s Gate 3’s textures. In particular, clothing and armor or even certain decorative elements are missing. If you want absolutely every texture in the game to be improved, here is the list of mods that WestAard recommends:
Please note, however, that you need a particularly well-equipped PC to be able to take full advantage of everything in Baldur’s Gate 3, otherwise there is a risk of performance losses. However, it is possible to choose a happy medium, as the creators of the above mods usually offer different texture resolutions depending on your needs.
