Warning: spoilers for Baldur’s Gate 3 ahead, especially those involving Will or his possible appearance.
Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 7 and the vast amount of additions and tweaks that Larain has made since the game’s release (which is also still unfinished) have already satisfied many of the things fans wanted to see implemented in the base game or wanted to see improved upon. However, some of Wyll’s biggest fans feel that the studio hasn’t done enough for him, and some modders have now decided to take it upon themselves to try and rectify the situation.
This isn’t the first time that someone in the BG3 community has taken stock of the situation following the release of Patch 7 and wished that Larian could do better with aspects of the game that they like. Just last week, a group of Durge players began asking the developers to modify some of their companions’ reactions to key scenes for them.

As far as Wyll fans are concerned, two modders named Magnetuning and Aimryax have chosen to take a DIY approach to getting more of what they want in the game, and they’ve begun working on a project they’re calling the “Wyll Cinematic Universe (WCU).” Basically, it will be a series of mods that increase the amount of content for those who choose to romance Blade of Frontiers or simply want to spend more time with him.
The first part of the project has just been released, “The Brightest Star – Will’s New Romance Scene in Act 3,” and the mod does just what its name suggests, with Magnetuning writing that the scene (which you can watch a demo of below) has its own voice lines spliced together from existing voice lines in the game, “bringing back [Wyll’s] Early access to hug animations and allows you to comfort him after key story moments”.
The scenario is currently locked to the Dockyard Camp, and in order to obtain it you need to follow/have followed some specific action paths in the game that Magnetuning lists in the mod description.
The profile also details why Magnetuning and Aimryax decided to take on this project. “The first reason was out of love for Wyll, a wonderful character with a fascinating story and a tender romance,” the modder wrote. “However, the second reason was Larian’s abuse and indifference towards Wyll.
“Of the six origins, Wyll has the least content at around 8 hours, followed by Karlach at 10 hours, and Astarion at 12. The difference is not only noticeable in content, but also in what has been done since launch.
“The game has been out for over a year now, but this content discrepancy has yet to be addressed in any significant way, and Will continues to suffer from major bugs, from missing subtitles during third act party conversations to companions not properly labeling his quest responses. While Patch 7 promised to fix bugs and add more content for him, it did nothing to actually address the content discrepancy and the issues affecting him.”
So, we’ll have to see what else the duo ends up cooking up, especially since Aimryax said in a Reddit post that they’re considering contacting Theo Liston, who plays Wyll, to see if he’s willing or able to do some paid voice work for him.
