Due to an ongoing issue causing Baldur’s Gate 3 players to lose saves on Xbox, Xbox Support has provided some steps you can take to avoid this issue until the correct solution is found.
Ace Larian acknowledge in tweet Earlier this week, the issue was that some saves disappeared completely after crashing, leaving people without a ton of progress they’d made since the Xbox BG3 Game Awards Shadow dropped.Michael Dowse, the studio’s publishing director, confirmed that the full solution to the problem is In progressbut in the meantime here’s how to minimize your risk.

“To avoid this issue, players should save their game, then return to the Xbox Dashboard and select “Exit Game” or “Save to Quick Recovery” from the game menu (Home, Games, Select, then “Save to Quick Recovery”) “Continue” or “Quit” when they’re done playing), Xbox Support advises a tweet.
“Users should not disconnect power from their console,” it continued, “Users should select ‘Shut Down’ from the console menu and leave Xbox connected to power. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.”
Beyond that, assuming you haven’t done so already, it’s probably a good idea to make sure you’ve installed all the latest updates available for your Xbox, including the firmware update released earlier this week.
