release window Baldur’s Gate 3 Larian Studios made the announcement tonight at The Game Awards 2022.
Alongside the August release window, a new trailer has also been released, showing off animations, gameplay, and a first look at two familiar legendary faces: Minsc and Jaheira.
The video also offers a first look at the game’s namesake city, and one of Faerun’s most prosperous and influential cities.
Larian also announced a Collector’s Edition for the game, which will be available for pre-order. It’s priced at $259.99/$269.99 and is limited to 25,000 units worldwide. The first 15,000 orders will also include three Magic booster packs.
It has the following content:
Mindflayer vs. Drow Battle Diorama: 1,100 g, 25 cm long mind flayer and drow combat figure. Made of PVC/ABS plastic, this collector’s edition statue features a painted and hand-finished circular landscape base depicting the subterranean kingdom of the Underdark.
hardcover art book: This book showcases the art and design of Baldur’s Gate 3 in hardcover form, written by Larian. Featuring approximately 160 pages of concept art and environment design inspired by forgotten realms, the inner pages are printed on satin 170gsm gold-plated foil-edged paper with a scuff-resistant PP laminate cover.
character table: A set of 4-page D&D character sheets for each Baldur’s Gate 3 Origin character.
cloth texture: Single-sided A3 map of Faerûn, made of silk satin fabric.
tadpole key ring: Metal key ring inspired by tadpoles, made of zinc alloy.
sticker: 32 die-cut vinyl stickers inspired by Baldur’s Gate 3. Includes custom illustrated character and Larian Studios warrior logo.
Magic booster packs: Three booster packs containing Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate decks featuring characters from Baldur’s Gate 3. (First 15K Collector’s Edition sold only).

While you’re waiting for the game to launch, you’ll hear about Update 9, the game’s release this month. The patch includes several additions to the Early Access game, including a new playable class.
