Surprise: the classic Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is being re-released. The waiting time: NULL. So sharpen your swords if you feel like a little retro feeling.
Twenty years after its first release, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance sees the light of day again. The classic will be re-released for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. You don’t have to wait for it, because the release is today.
The game is not a remake or remaster of the original, but a port for modern hardware. This includes support for 4K resolutions, and the game can also be played on the new PS5 and Xbox Series X / S consoles via backward compatibility. Versions for PC and mobile will also appear in the summer.
If you are wondering why the title has just been dug out of the box again: In June, Dark Alliance will be the spiritual successor to the series, which will appear as a co-op role-playing game for almost all platforms. In it you take on the roles of Drizzt Do’Urden, Catti-Brie, Bruenor Battlehammer and Wulfgar, among others.
