Surprisingly and almost out of nowhere, the good news recently came that the RPG classic Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is coming to current consoles. Now there are also new statements about a PC implementation and the sequel Dark Alliance II.
The original Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance was announced quite surprisingly a few days ago for the current consoles PS4, Xbox One and Switch and caused cheers among long-time RPG fans. At the same time, of course, this also led to further questions, especially from PC gamers and in relation to the sequel. Developer Black Isle Studios has now also commented on this.
Apparently, the makers are taking advantage of the current euphoria among fans to continue straight away. Because: A re-release of the second part is actually “on the table” at the studio. Black Isle Studios confirmed this in response to a query via Twitter.
Although an official announcement of a comeback from Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II is still pending, it is apparently only a question of when this will take place and no longer if at all. The sequel took up the gameplay from the first part and added more characters and plenty of other action. So far the sequel has been released for PS2 and Xbox.
And: PC fans also have reason to be happy, because Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance should also come on this platform. According to the same tweet, the makers hope to be able to place a corresponding implementation on Steam later in the year.
