The long wait is over: Larian Studios has released the extensive Patch 7 including mod support for Baldur’s Gate III. This is at least true for the PC, while console players will have to wait a little longer.
Larian Studios have kept their word and released Patch 7, the last major update for the role-playing blockbuster Baldur’s Gate III. This certainly applies to the PC version of the game, as both console and Mac players will have to wait a little longer. The major patch will be released on these platforms in October; no specific date has been announced yet.
So what is on offer in Patch 7? First of all, there is the long-promised modding toolkit, which allows you to create your own modifications for the RPG and should provide more on this front in the coming months. Thanks to a mod manager, you can also easily browse and install the mods created by the community. In short: modders can finally let their creativity run wild! In addition to the mods, there are also new “evil endings” to discover in the game. Those who have played through villainous playthroughs will be offered new cinematic endings if they played with an Origin character.
In addition, the split-screen gameplay was reworked in Patch 7, so that you can now also use the dynamic split-screen in multiplayer. When playing, both sides are brought together when the players approach. When you move away again and go on your own adventures, they separate again.
Finally, there are improvements to Honor Mode including new legendary moves and bug fixes for playthroughs with Origin characters and the Dark Urge. If you are interested, you can Read the full patch notes here on Steam.
To celebrate the patch release, there is also a new discount campaign. Anyone who has not yet purchased Baldur’s Gate III can do so now until September 9th with a 20 percent discount on the regular price on Steam.
