This year’s Oscar nominations have been announced. Oppenheimer Received 13 nominations, but also had some surprising snubs Barbie.

It’s finally here, the full list of Oscar nominations is out, and while many of the nominations were expected, there are a few surprises. As expected, “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” both received Best Picture nominations, as did “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Poor Things.” Cillian Murphy was also nominated for best actor for “Oppenheimer” and Lily Gladstone was nominated for best actor for “Killers of the Flower Moon.” But somewhat surprisingly, despite being nominated for Best Picture, Barbie wasn’t up for Best Director, and Margot Robbie wasn’t up for Best Actress for the titular doll.

Robbie is technically nominated because she serves as a producer on “Barbie,” which means she could win best picture. Barbie has already received some acting nominations, however, with Ryan Gosling nominated for Best Supporting Actor as Ken and America Ferrera as Gloria nominated for Best Supporting Actress. The American Shooters Awards, which air next month, usually have a lot of crossover with nominations and winners, and Robbie was nominated for Best Actress, which makes the snub all the more bizarre. Along with her, Leonardo DiCaprio also missed out on the best actor award for “Killers of the Flower Moon” and Greta Lee for “Life Before and After” also missed out on the best actress award, This is a bit strange.

Beyond that, it does look like it’s going to be a pretty rough year – Nolan could easily take home Best Director since he hasn’t actually won an Oscar yet, so it’s possible that this is “his” Times” is the case. Best animated feature can be hard to predict, with films like Hayao Miyazaki’s “The Boy and the Heron” competing against the likes of “Nimona” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” , these three films are all films that truly pushed the animation medium forward.

You can view the full list of nominations here, but if you’d like to place a bet please do so elsewhere, this is not a betting office.
