a module final fantasy 7 remake Bringing a little stylistic change to Barrett’s look makes him more of a work of art by Yoshitaka Amano.
We’ve all seen various Final Fantasy beautiful art from Amano, right from the very first game. The cover art when he was still doing it didn’t quite resemble the art of the game itself, but there was nothing like it on store shelves at the time. Now, a modder himself is responsible for making Barrett look more like Amano’s take on the character (thanks Kotaku).
To be sure, Amano’s handling of Barrett is very different from the style of original character designer Tetsuya Nomura (who also happens to reveal that kingdom hearts 4 recent). Not only that, but the only art available to Barrett in Amano’s art style is from the waist up, as shown on the page, for reference, making things a little extra challenging.
“There wasn’t a lot of art to use as a reference, so I kept all the visible parts: the ponytail, fur trim, earrings, and face piercings,” modder Amiibolad wrote in the mod description. “The rest is my interpretation of Amano’s freeform shapes and patterns, and of course: beads! Enjoy.”
Barret marks the last of the four main playable characters in Final Fantasy VII Remake to get the Amano treatment, as Amiibolad has also been designed for Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa, meaning you can choose a very different vibe from your base game.
This should be a nice and fun way to get players through the rough patch as they continue to wait for the daunting task of Final Fantasy VII Remake’s currently unconfirmed second installment. At least we know the next installment will really push the PS5 to its limits.
