Batman fans now have to be tough, because with the new series offshoot Gotham Knights, contrary to previous plans, nothing will be in the current year 2021.
WB Games Montreal had less good news to announce at the start of the weekend: The promising new game in the Batman universe, Gotham Knights, will no longer be released in the current year 2021 after all. The corresponding announcement confirms that the release will not take place until 2022.
The reason for the postponement is the fact that they simply want to give the development team more time: “We’re giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for the players. We thank our great fans for their incredible support of Gotham Knights. And we’re delighted we look forward to showing you more of the game in the coming months, “reads the corresponding statement.
Gotham Knights was announced in August 2020 as part of the DC FanDome and, for a change, does not focus on the Dark Knight himself, but on the sidekicks Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing and Red Hood.
It’s an open world game in which the heroes team up to take on Mr. Freeze and several other villains. It can be played both solo and in co-op for two players. The release is planned for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
