The games in the Batman Arkham series have been some of the most popular games featuring the popular superhero of the past decade. This is mainly due to the then innovative combat system, which inspired several other games.
Now a new tech demo has appeared in Unreal Engine 5, showing Batman and his brisk combat system in the megacity from The Matrix Awakens. While it’s not quite the Arkham system, it at least makes one dream of a Batman game in the UE5.
Almost like a real game
The Youtuber makes it possible JSFILMZ, who has already recorded some tests and videos in Unreal Engine 5. In his video he shows how the bat man moves through the well-known city from the Matrix demo. In around 2:40 minutes, the superhero fights armored opponents in a few combat interludes. The Unreal Engine 5 Batman doesn’t move quite as fluidly as its Arkham counterpart, but it does look a lot better. Above all, the lighting effects in the city at night show what the new engine can conjure up on the screen.
In addition, he has been given some interface elements, such as a life bar in the top center and abilities with a cooldown display on the right side. The top left area looks like a level or experience meter. These could be signs that the modder is at least working on a playable version of the demo, complete with combat system.
There’s more Batman in the megacity
The video of the battling Batman above is already the Youtuber’s second of the Batman in Unreal Engine 5. Im first video, which appeared a few days earlier, we see Batman sneak up on his opponents and incapacitate them from behind. The previously mentioned interface elements are also already present here.
But the bat is far from the first hero to romp around in Unreal Engine 5’s megacity. Superman was the first that you can even fly around the city with on your PC. Then came Spiderman, who can also use his spider’s threads to shimmy through the urban canyons in the UE5.
However, it is still unclear when the first real superhero game will come with Epic’s new graphics engine. In this article, however, we have summarized which games are already using the UE5:
