Tomorrow, Thursday, there will be fresh information about Battlefield 2042 as part of a live stream, but news has already been announced in advance: Co-developer DICE LA will be known as Ripple Effect Studios in the future.
DICE LA, based in Los Angeles, is currently working with the main studio DICE on the upcoming shooter Battlefield 2042. However, from now on DICE LA is no longer called that. As publisher Electronic Arts announced tonight, the developer will be known as Ripple Effect Studios in the future. The newly operating team will be headed by Christian Grass as studio manager.
Christian Grass as GM comments on the move as follows: “At Ripple Effect Studios, innovation and quality are the top priority of every project, because even the smallest idea can change the world. That is the decisive characteristic behind the new name of the studio. We are very proud of our work as DICE LA and the DICE team will forever be part of our DNA, but over the past eight years we have developed our own culture and our own way of doing things. We look forward to looking to the future, expanding the team and establishing our own identity. “
Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn Entertainment, also plays a role in the context of Ripple Effect Studios. He took on an expanded leadership role in January 202, including overseeing Ripple Effect. Together with Grass, he is now to bring new artists, designers and technicians on board, who will then also help with the development of a previously unannounced project – alongside Battlefield 2042.
Both will be streamed tomorrow, Thursday in advance of EA Play Live “The Future of the FPS Genre” Participate and announce news about Battlefield 2042, among other things. Oskar Gabrielson from DICE and Chad Grenier from Respawn will also be there, because Apex Legends will also be the topic of the event, which starts at 7:00 p.m.
The main EA Play Live show is scheduled for July 22nd and will then include even more extensive announcements and impressions of Battlefield 2042.
