EA and the Battlefield team continue to work hard on Battlefield 2042 and have now announced the start date for Season 5 called “New Dawn”. The contents of the new season are also set – an overview.
On June 7, 2023 – in just a few days – the first-person shooter Battlefield 2042 will enter its fifth season. Season 5: New Dawn will then bring a host of new content to the title, including a new map, weapons, gadgets, usability improvements, and of course, a 100 rank Battle Pass.
The core content will be made available to all players of the shooter as part of the free Battle Pass. If you also want to call your own additional cosmetic content, you can get the paid premium version of the Battle Pass. As a special reward, Year 1 Battle Pass holders will receive an Epic Skin and XP Booster for the first two weeks of Season 5.
What’s the topic? In Season 5, the battles shift to the Czech Republic, to an abandoned industrial complex that has been scarred by war and nature. Inspired by Battlefield 4, the new map, Reclaimed, takes place on a secret railroad track where you will need to work together with your squad more than ever to survive. The derailed train setting allows for vehicle combat, while the forest area landing zone encourages close-quarters combat and opens up new lines of sight by destroying trees. In addition, the Abandoned Turbine and Military Warehouse offer diverse firefight experiences ranging from vertical combat and cover battles to a space-constrained, tight layout.
In addition, there are several weapons from Battlefield 4 – all with a new look and sound. The XCE-Bar bolt-action rifle opens up new upgrade possibilities, allowing you to cycle through upgrades to attack enemies at different ranges, while the GWE-46 allows for high stability with short salvos at medium range. It is joined by the powerful BFP.50 hand cannon for massive close-range damage and the Phalanx CIWS combined gun and anti-aircraft emplacement. A choice of detonations is also offered with the feather grenade, anti-tank grenade and mini grenade.
In terms of usability, there’s a new squad management system, an overhaul of vehicle equipment, revamped archive weapons, new thermal technology, and heavy anti-aircraft weapons. As the season progresses, there will also be the seventh and last revised starting card, “Hourglass”, including a new route under the expressway.
