Even if Battlefield 2042 is considered a flop, EA and DICE continue to work on it. In addition to various optimizations, there is always new content – and now season 4 called “Eleventh Hour” is on the agenda.
EA and the Battlefield team today announced details, dates and gameplay for Season 4: Eleventh Hour in Battlefield 2042. Accordingly, the new season in the first-person shooter will start on February 28, 2023 and will then bring a lot of new content with it. Among other things, you can look forward to a new map, a specialist, weapons, a vehicle, 100 new Battle Pass ranks and more.
The developers want to make the core content available to all players as part of the free Battle Pass. In addition, as usual, there is also a paid premium version that has additional cosmetic items.
The theme of the new season is South Africa, because that’s where the new map called “Flashpoint” is located. The region’s rocky landscapes allow vehicles to roam outdoors and seek cover, while the larger interiors, including an underground tunnel, provide opportunities for close quarters combat on foot.
The new specialist is ambush expert Camila “Blasco” who uses her scout tra ining and her own tactical gear to move without triggering motion sensors. Your X6 infiltration device prevents acquisition by enemy devices, disrupts active sighting technology, and creates dead zones. It displays enemy techs within its range until they are destroyed or disabled.
First up in weaponry is the new Super 500 short-range pump shotgun sidearm. The RM68 is a variable assault rifle with an integrated silencer, the lightweight AC9 MP has an ergonomic housing for optimal control in fast-paced combat, and the LMG RPT-31 has a low rate of fire and powerful projectiles. In addition to the guns, there is the SPH explosive launcher as a new gadget and the CAV brawler as a new vehicle, which can be driven in tight spaces. The latter serves as a team spawner that allies can spawn next to even when it’s full.
And: Thanks to the class system update, you can further define your roles – based on the division of specialists into four classic and well-known classes: assault, engineer, scout and support. The class system redefines the gear specialists have access to, making their role more structured and relatable.
