Battlefield 2042 is coming to an end in terms of content after Season 7, but before that there is a comeback of the frontline mode in an in-game event.
Electronic Arts and DICE recently announced that Battlefield 2042 will no longer receive any major new content after Season 7 and that all eyes are on the future of the Battlefield series – even if there will be further smaller events etc. Before that happens, however, a game mode from earlier days is brought back into the title.
The team has now announced “Blutrote Front”, a new in-game event that will take place as part of Season 7: Turning Point and will bring back the popular front line mode for a limited time. This is intended to offer you a strategic and at the same time intensive combat experience with a special focus on attack maneuvers.
What is the event thematically about? Set against the backdrop of an unprecedented, global assault by the ground forces of the Thousand Blossom Coalition (TBK), Blood Red Front focuses on the Red Hand – a veteran battalion that pushes the front lines forward and never retreats.
The new LTM represents a reinterpretation of front lines from Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V. You can expect intense 20-vs-20 battles with a clearly defined front and a classic tug of war. The aim is to force the other side off the map. The game is played on the maps “Harbor”, “Reclaimed”, “Discarded” and “Secret”, where you have to secure sectors, station radio stations and hold the position.
The event lasts a total of two weeks, during which you can also collect various rewards; these can also be purchased as store bundles. The event will also be paired with a double XP weekend for faster level ups.
