Battlefield 2042: New Battlefield Portal game mode revealed

The second major game mode for Battlefield 2042 was presented yesterday evening. We’ll tell you what’s behind the Battlefield Portal.

We already presented the multiplayer experience All-Out Warfare for Battlefield 2042 as part of an E3 preview. Now the second mode is also known, which is made by Ripple Effect Studios: Battlefield Portal. Behind it is a powerful editor with which you can create your own individual Battlefield experiences. You play these yourself or share them with the community. In the same way, you can get other people’s creations onto your console or computer.

Battlefield Portal is designed to provide a comprehensive developer environment that includes countless settings, game modes and a logic editor. Not only do you have access to all weapons and maps from Battlefield 2042, but you can also use various multiplayer elements from Battlefield 3, Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Cards:

• Battle of the Ardennes (Battlefield 1942)
• El Alamein (Battlefield 1942)
• Arica Harbor (Battlefield: Bad Company 2)
• Valparaiso (Battlefield: Bad Company 2)
• Caspian Border (Battlefield 3)
• Noshahr Channels (Battlefield 3)
• all maps from All-Out Warfare from Battlefield 2042

Weapons:

• over 40 weapons from 3 theaters of war
• M1 Garand, Panzerschreck, G3, M416 and more
• the arsenal of All-Out Warfare from Battlefield 2042

Vehicles:

• 40+ vehicles from 3 theaters of war
• Spitfire and Bomber B17 return alongside modern vehicles like the Quad and the Little Bird
• the fleet of All-Out Warfare from Battlefield 2042

Gadgets:

• 30+ gadgets from 3 theaters of war
• Reconnaissance objects such as MAV and radio beacons are available as a gadget selection in addition to defibrillator and EOD bot
• the gadgets from Battlefield 2042

Armies:

• classic factions return and the 7 different armies of the classic titles can be mixed with the specialists from Battlefield 2042
• Armies such as Great Britain, USA and Germany from 1942 as well as USA and Russia from Bad Company 2 are only available exclusively in the Battlefield Portal

Soldiers:

• With the groupings in Battlefield Portal, the soldier archetypes also return. This includes the roles of assault soldier, engineer, supply soldier and scout from Battlefield 3

There are hardly any limits to your creativity. So you can bring together all types of soldiers, weapons and vehicles from all Battlefield games in countless constellations. To do this, you define parameters such as the number of participants, lap length and more. There will be regular new extensions for the multiplayer kit via live service. Battlefield Portal will be released along with Battlefield 2042 on October 22nd for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC. As an EA Play member, you can try out the new shooter for 10 hours from October 15th.
