EA and the Battlefield team revealed more today about Battlefield 2042 Season 3: Level Up.
Season 3 launches on November 22, adding new maps, specialists, weapons, vehicles, and more, including 100 new tiers of Battle Pass content. All core gameplay-affecting content will be available to all players as part of the free tier in the Battle Pass, with additional cosmetic items available through the premium version of the Battle Pass.
In Season 3, players will travel to the wilds of Sweden with a new map, Spearhead, featuring a semi-automated manufacturing facility.
Also featured this season is Zain, an Egyptian-born specialist and security expert who wields the XM370A Airburst rifle. After killing an enemy, Zane can instantly regenerate health.
Various weapons and a Battlefield classic projectile also appear on the Season 3 roster. These include the Rorsch Mk-4 Railgun, which fires rapid-fire projectiles and has multiple fire modes, and the twin-barreled semi-automatic NVK-S22 smart shotgun that comes in handy in close quarters situations. Also included this season is the long-barreled NVK-P125 Bullpup, a pistol ideal for long-distance engagements. Throwing knives will also be added to the Battlefield 2042 arsenal this season.
For vehicles, there is the EMKV90-TOR tank with two modes. The first is a movement mode that emphasizes speed, and the second is a siege mode that’s good for dealing a lot of damage. In addition, the tank is equipped with a special system that detects sources of attacks within a certain range and displays them in the HUD.
If you’re looking for more progression, in addition to the Battle Pass, new missions will offer more Vault weapons, including the XM8 and A-91, and more weapons will be available in future Season 3 updates.
Late Season 3 Update: Upgrades include Specialist rework featuring a move to a class-based system and a host of balance tweaks. As previously reported, you can also expect a rework of the Manifest and Breakaway launch maps.
And don’t forget: If you’re new to the game, you can try it for a limited time for free starting this December. Steam and Xbox owners can try it from December 1-5 and December 1-4, respectively, while PlayStation owners can try it from December 16-23.
Battlefield 2042 Season 3 will also be released to EA Play, allowing EA Play members to play the game on PlayStation, Xbox and PC via Steam, the EA app and Origin. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can also access it through EA Play.
