DICE details some expected outcomes Battlefield 2042 Seasons 4 and 5 after Update 3.2 will launch in early 2023.
According to the studio, Season 4 will mark the end of Year 1 and launch in early 2023 with new specialists, a new battle pass, brand new hardware, and more.
A new map will arrive with the content, but it will be a smaller, shorter linear-designed offering for close quarters combat.
Season 5, currently in pre-production, will also feature new specialists, new maps, new hardware, and a new battle pass.
DICE says that for season 5, the studio will be “borrowing from previous games” and how they appeared in Battlefield 2042. The new Season 5 map will be “The Forgotten Fields,” the last battle seen in Battlefield 4.
It will feature an overgrown area and encourage a combination of vehicular and infantry combat, where teamwork is key to victory.
While you wait for Seasons 4 and 5, the game’s current season kicked off on November 22nd, and you’ll head to the wilds of Sweden with a new map, Spearhead. This season also includes Zain, an Egyptian-born specialist and security expert, multiple weapons and a classic field projectile, a new tank, new missions, and more.
In early 2023, Update 3.2 will include the Expert rework, featuring a move to a career-based system and a host of balance tweaks. Season 4 will see one Specialist placed in the Scout category and be the last Specialist to be brought into the game, bringing the roster total to 14.
As previously reported, you can also expect a rework of the Manifest and Breakaway launch maps.
