The announcement of current business figures by publisher Electronic Arts is interesting in several ways in relation to the upcoming shooter Battlefield 6. For example, it has already been confirmed whether the title will only appear on next-gen consoles or not.
If you finally want to find out more about Battlefield 6, you basically have to wait a few more weeks until the official reveal. According to the teaser, via Twitter
Interesting: Wilson promises a “real next-gen game”, so he wants to make particular use of the new possibilities of the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S in order to guarantee an epic dimension of the game as well as never-before-seen possibilities of destruction. Does this mean that Battlefield 6 is only available for PC and the two new consoles?
Fortunately, owners of the last generation of PS4 and Xbox One can also breathe a sigh of relief, because although the above statement basically implies next-gen exclusivity, this will not be the case. On the occasion of the annual report, CEO Andrew Wilson and CFO Blake Jorgensen emphasized that they wanted to exploit the possibilities of the new generation, but Battlefield 6 will explicitly be a cross-gen title. According to Jorgensen, the title should play “great on all consoles”.
The next-gen version will feel “special” in view of the greater technical possibilities, so it should definitely offer some noticeable improvements.
Last but not least, the release period was narrowed down even before the reveal. The publication should therefore take place between October and December 2021, so unsurprisingly during Christmas business this year. So this year there is once again the direct encounter between the two big shooter series Call of Duty and Battlefield.
