If you’ve ever wanted to fight like a giant King Kong against prehistoric or gigantic beasts, you’re in luck.

Skull Island: Kong Rising is a new version coming later this year, in which you play as the eighth wonder of the world.

Unleash Kong’s Wrath in Skull Island: Kong Rise, launching later this year on PC and consoles.

Building on the rich history of Skull Island developed by creator Joe DeVito and based on Merian C. Cooper’s King Kong, this third-person action-adventure game has a slightly cell-shaded look as you become King Kong on a quest for vengeance and the fight for the rightful king of Skull Island.

As a King Kong Orphan, you’re out to avenge your parents who were killed by the giant lizard horror, Gaw. You’ll explore the island, uncover its secrets in several dangerous environments, and discover the power of its flora and fauna.

There will be tons of primeval beasts in your way, and you’ll have to defeat unique bosses to become king. Having to deal with these minions of Gaw, you’ll use a variety of combos and unleash your rage to amplify the impact of your attacks. You can even make enemies flee with earth-shattering roars and use brutal finishing attacks.

Throughout the game, you’ll gain new abilities through special events and boss fights, unlocking Donkey Kong’s full potential. Collectibles can be obtained by exploring mountains, jungles, swamps, caves, and more. Exploring will also unlock new areas, during which you’ll learn more about the island.

Pre-orders for Skull Island: The Rise of Kong are available now, with the game’s Digital Deluxe Colossus Edition coming soon. This release includes eight unique film grains to experience red rage mode and the original look of classic King Kong movies from 1933 and the 1970s. It also includes a Donkey Kong color pack with 10 different colors (so you can choose your own Donkey Kong color), a boss-rush mode (which lets you defeat all the titans of Skull Island), and a behind-the-scenes exclusive pack (including in-game art and an all-original orchestral soundtrack).

Developed by IguanaBee Studios and published by GameMill Entertainment, Skull Island: The Rise of Kong is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S later this year.
