The Dead by Daylight makers at Behaviour Interactive have struck and acquired the studio behind Darkest Dungeon 2.
Takeovers have been nothing unusual in the video game industry in recent years – and now it’s that time again. This time, the Dead by Daylight makers at Behaviour Interactive have struck and secured the development studio Red Hook.
Red Hook Studios from Vancouver were previously independent and are known as the creators of the Darkest Dungeon series. This was once financed via crowdfunding and has since developed into a rather cult gothic horror franchise with a certain fan base.
The 29-person team from Canada now belongs to Behaviour, but will continue to operate as an independent team. Behaviour wants to use the takeover to further establish itself in the horror sector.
Back in April, the company partnered with Haenir Studios to develop Blight: Survival, a medieval horror action-survival game. Behaviour and Supermassive Games also recently released The Casting of Frank Stone, a cinematic horror experience that further expands the Dead by Daylight story.
