The iPhone SE 2 benchmark is slower than the iPhone 11 Pro
The new iPhone SE 2020 is faster than the iPhone XS Max, but slower than the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. AnTuTu's benchmark test shows that even if A13 Bionic is installed, Apple may have applied handbrake artificially to the cheap iPhone SE.
What do iPhone 11 Pro [Max], iPhone 11 and the second generation iPhone SE have in common? Powerful A13 bionic processor. For the new iPhone SE, this is particularly noteworthy, because its cost is far less than half of the iPhone 11 Pro. Same chip, same performance? Obviously, Apple is tailoring a wrench for you.
The second generation iPhone SE in the AnTuTu benchmark
AnTuTu has now published the benchmark results of the new iPhone SE model on the Chinese Weibo network. Therefore, iPhone SE 2 realized:
- About 492,000 points, significantly lower than the iPhone 11 Pro [521,000 points]
- However, more than iPhone XS Max [443,000 points]
- 186,000 GPU points
- 78,000 storage points
These values are interesting and instructive, but you should not overestimate them. In testing, Apple ’s selected reviewers have so far appreciated the excellent performance of the iPhone SE 2, and most people have not noticed the obvious speed difference between the iPhone 11 and the new iPhone SE.

There may be many reasons why Apple puts the handbrake on the iPhone SE, such as optimizing battery life. Recently, when it was learned that the new iPad Pro 2020 has almost the same chip as the 2018 iPad Pro, the manufacturer caused surprise among some fans.
Compared with other mid-range smartphones in this price range, the new iPhone SE certainly does not have to hide in terms of performance. For example, this applies to cameras. Moreover, we must also consider whether the current cheapest iPhone model is actually so much worse than the most expensive iPhone model to date.
Apple launched the second-generation iPhone SE in April, but there was no keynote. Technically, it is strongly based on the now discontinued iPhone8. At least for this reason, it is currently speculating whether and when there will be a larger iPhone SE Plus version. On this overview page, we will provide you with the latest information about all things worth knowing about iPhone SE 2020.
