The Last Case of Benedict Fox is a Lovecraftian Metroidvania with lovely handcrafted visuals that seem to fit perfectly into the game’s twisted world.
As self-proclaimed detective Benedict Fox, you’ll have to sort through a world filled with secret societies, forbidden rituals, and cold-blooded murders. In search of clues to an untimely death, you’ll delve into the victim’s consciousness to explore their memories.
You will not go alone because you will have a companion to go with. Unlike typical companions or Dr. Watson, your allies are the demons to which you are bound. It is this demon that allows you to explore the minds of the recently deceased in order to gain “witnesses”.
While trying to uncover the secrets of an old mansion, a couple has died and their child is missing, and you’ll be drawn into the dark, intimate conspiracy surrounding the case, and must confront the family’s demons – whatever Either figuratively or literally.
In games, memories, emotions, and trauma can take physical form. Look forward to battling demons, monsters and disciples of secret societies using the weapons at your disposal and your demonic powers.
During gamescom, the game released two new videos, one of which is a developer walkthrough that dives into the secrets of Mansion, an alternate reality called Limbo, and how Mansion and Limbo are connected.
The walkthrough also revealed the tattooist, a character that provides Benedict with new abilities that will help him progress in the depths of Limbo.
The second video, with the tattoo artist, provides a glimpse of the game’s map.
Developed by Plot Twist, The Last Case of Benedict Fox is coming to PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2023. This will be the first day of launch on Xbox Game Pass.
