Halo 2: Anniversary is the next part of the Master Chief Collection. Halo 2: Anniversary is the next part of the Master Chief Collection.

After Halo: Anniversary was added to the Master Chief Collection on March 3, 2020, Halo 2: Anniversary is slowly but surely approaching release. Its beta phase, like that of Halo: Reach's Forge and Theater mode, is scheduled to start by the end of the month.

The 343 Industries team explained this in a new developer update, in which they not only look back on the release of the latest remake, but also give an outlook on the future of the game collection.

This is in the next test phase

The biggest innovation of the next flight – that's what the team calls its closed beta phases – is the next halo game.

Halo 2: Anniversary is a remake of Halo 2, the last Halo that was officially released for the PC 16 years ago in 2004. At the time, it caused a stir because it no longer ran on Windows XP, but inevitably required Windows Vista.

  • Halo 2: Anniversary: The revised version of Halo 2 is not only characterized by improved textures and a new user interface, but also by minor changes to the gameplay. Among other things, there are some new weapons and vehicles.
  • Forge: Halo Reach's Forge is also part of the next test. The is a multiplayer mode in which you can create your own maps and game modes and share them with other players.
  • Theater mode: Each round of halo – whether single or multiplayer – is automatically saved as a film in the theater. There you can watch your run again and also move the camera around freely.

The team wants to announce an exact date for the test phase in the near future, but emphasizes that it can change again. They also reiterate that the purpose of these betas is Find bugs and fix them before the release.

The Halo: Master Chief Collection costs 40 euros on Steam. It currently includes Halo: Reach and Halo: Anniversary. Owners of the collection will receive the additional parts for their release at no extra charge. Alternatively, you can also purchase the games individually.
