But nobody expected that this label would not only be used for new Star Wars games. The brand owner works with Bethesda and together they make Indiana Jones playable again.

Lucasfilm Games: The legendary label returns for Star Wars
From Wolfenstein to Indiana Jones
But we don’t know much about the new game yet. Bethesda only shared an initial video on Twitter, which is little more than a small teaser. After all, it seems more like indies adventures from the first three films and therefore most likely takes place again in the 30s or 40s.
Bethesda announced MachineGames as the development studio. This is the developer studio that has been working on the Wolfenstein series since 2014. In a way, that goes very well with Indiana Jones, after all, Dr. Jones also regularly met rival Nazis on his travels. It could also be a sign that this is more of an action game.
The producer will also look familiar to many:
A whole new story
But what we can already say now: This Indiana Jones game will neither be a remake of an old classic, nor be based on the plot of the films. It should be an entirely new story. So we accompany Indy with hat and whip into unknown realms.
That wouldn’t be the first time either. After all, the adventure Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis, still from Lucasarts, is considered by some fans to be the significantly better successor to the third feature film The Last Crusade. You shouldn’t confuse Fate of Atlantis with the action game of the same name, because that was a disaster:
Indiana Jones and the Fail of Atlantis – Worst Games Ever
We are not expecting an adventure with this new Indy game, however, the genre has probably left the mainstream for too long. But maybe Nathan Drake and Lara Croft will soon have third-person competition from their intellectual grandfather.
