Bethesda, Zenimax and the rest of the companies that make up the group today announced the donation of a million dollars to help mitigate the effects of the global pandemic of COVID-19: "We want to do more than just keep you entertained and connected through our video games," says the letter published on the official website of the company.
One million euros to fight the coronavirus
In the text accompanying this announcement, Bethesda explains that, given the spread of the threat, They'll divide that million dollars into three parts unequal and will donate each of them to NGOs related to the fight against the coronavirus. Specifically donate $ 500,000 to Direct Relief, a non-profit organization primarily responsible for providing medical protection material to workers, $ 250,000 to UNICEF, the organization dedicated to the international protection of children, and $ 250,000 reserved for local associations based in the cities where Bethesda has development studies; It will be the workers themselves who decide which NGOs will receive this last charity game.
At the same time the company recalls the importance of maintaining security measures promoted by the different international governments, although always trying not to lose the distance that unites us with the rest of the people in our community. They remember that they themselves They are running a campaign called '#BethesdaAtHome' consisting of streams from home not only to keep your community together but also to make a call for solidarity donations to needy groups.
The coronavirus is also affecting video game companies, of course.. Many of them have had their launch plans and even their announcement calendar modified. Bethesda itself confirmed a few weeks ago that it would not finally replace its E3 2020 conference with a digital presentation, despite the fact that it had plans to show games like GhostWire: Tokyo and Deathloop in the event before it was canceled.
