We’ve known this type of artificial intelligence for a long time, but ChatGPT has been able to widen the gap. In fact, the OpenAI Laboratories’ AI pushes the concept even further with amazingly realistic interactions. You can ask ChatGPT almost anything except his opinion, which often leads to a message demanding the place of artificial intelligence in our society… But for a math problem, French practice or something like that, ChatPGT is really strong.
If you haven’t been following the case, many school administrators have panicked and banned the use of ChatGPT, particularly due to fraud cases at certain universities and Science Po. A user came up with the idea of combining different techniques to properly cheat on homework. ChatGPT simply gave him his homework, but one thing remains… Of course, you have to write with a pen on a piece of paper. But then what can we do when we are lazy?
Why write homework yourself?
So the user came up with the idea of modifying his 3D printer into a real “typewriter”. There are many tutorials on YouTube to convert your 3D printer. You have to attach and firmly attach a stylus to the head of the 3D printer, which usually has to move to create the part to be printed.
It must of course be specified that the model is flat, otherwise the pen will not touch the sheet. So in the end we have a task written by chatGPT and written by a pen attached to a 3D printer. The student only has to ask his questions to ChatGPT before he “prints” everything in the appropriate software.
So the printer will write very stable and very linear, so the teachers will definitely feel it 1000%. But this unexpected combination shows the limits of our current technologies. ChatGPT is clearly banned in educational institutions for obvious reasons. Students are encouraged to learn and use their words to answer their exam questions.
At the moment, using ChatGPT for rendering homework has not yet been officially sanctioned. But it’s different with exams, because in France the penalties for cheating are sometimes very high. Even with ChatGPT, fraud can result in a prison sentence and an examination ban.
However, some hackers manage to be smart enough not to have to think or even write anymore…
