Dragon is Dead, a mix of Dark Souls and Blasphemous, made a big announcement last night in the shadow of the Summer Game Fest conference. A modest game that could well surprise us in the coming months…
The Summer Game Fest is not only a big show for AAA, it is a whole period that is conducive to diverse and varied announcements. The free scene also uses this to make announcements or introduce new games. This is especially the case with The dragon is dead
Dragon is Dead, the hidden child of Blasphemous and Dark Souls, is coming to Steam!
Maybe not Souls, but the genre has been growing in popularity for a few years now, just like roguelites or even Metroidvania. The independent scene is a real goldmine for fans of these styles of games and yesterday, during IGN Live, which preceded SGF 2024, a new representative announced its rele ase date… immediately!
The dragon is dead launched its Early Access yesterday. A pixel-art platform action game focused on a dark fantasy universe close to gothic horror. In good roguelites, the requirement that prevails here, as with Blasphemous, is that we can identify the codes to some extent. We will therefore have a lot of horrors to face, as well as a plethora of extremely violent “soulesque” bosses. At the moment, the game is a little divided on Steam, but it is still in its infancy. The TeamSuneat studio promises to follow its foal very closely, and of course, the community’s feedback will help them a lot. For this, an Early Access is planned.
From the looks of things, the game offers quite a bit of challenge, multiple bosses and enemies to fight, and skills to improve your hero. You can also personalize your character however you like, tweaking your build to suit your preferences and playstyle. A little gem to follow closely, available now on Steam.
