If just a few weeks ago Nintendo presents Nintendo Switch OLED, no one could assume that it would not be the last portable console we would see this year. Valve just presented Steam Deck, its own system that will allow us to play the titles that we have in our library in portable mode.
It will be available to reserve from July 16 for a price 419 dollars for customers in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the United Kingdom. You will have your own dock which will allow you to connect the Steam Deck to external displays, link USB peripherals and the power cable. You will need a USB-C cable and the dock will be sold separately, just like reveal on their website.
There will be until three models for sale, as collected by the official booking page, varying the price and storage capacity:
- 64GB model for 419 dollars.
- 256GB model for 549 dollars.
- 512GB model for 679 dollars.
Steam Deck posee una 7 inch LCD touch screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The brightness reaches 400 nits, it has 60Hz and an ambient light sensor. As for the connections, it incorporates Bluetooth 5.0 and support for Wi-fi.
You will have noticed those trackpads, touch panels on the sides, with which Valve promises a great competitive advantage when it comes to facing titles of the FPS genre.
In its guts it has an AMD APU, with a Zen 2 4c / 8t CPU, 2.4-3.5 GHz and an 8 RDNA 2 CUs GPU, 1-1.6 GHz. Its RAM is 16GB and its battery reaches between two and eight hours of play. Regarding the size, it reaches 298 mm x 117 mm x 49 mm and 669 grams of weight, approximately. Its operating system is SteamOS 3.0.
The basic model will have a carrying case, the 256GB will add an exclusive profile batch for the Steam community and the 512GB will bring all of the above, adding anti-reflective screen and virtual keyboard with an exclusive theme. The truth is Gabe Newell already hinted that something special would arrive at the end of the year regarding Steam, with a mysterious message.
