So it’s no wonder that fans want to revive the special qualities of the Bioware brand – it’s still a while until the next Mass Effect. And what better way to do that than the evergreen Skyrim, which is still being played and modded today! That’s why the free Warden of the Coast fan expansion now lures with role-playing games à la Bioware.

These role-playing features await you

The developers also present the story and special features that await you in Warden of the Coast in their launch trailer:

What is the story about?

But what is the Warden of the Coast story about anyway? The fan expansion will bring back memories, especially for Oblivion players: Because on a far away, tropical island, gates to Oblivion open again, from which Daedra and monsters pour to conquer the mortal world. Of course, as the only available hero, you have to stop them.

How do I install and play the mod?

You can download the extension from the corresponding page of Nexusmods. If you already have a mod manager like Vortex installed, you can use the button Mod Manager Download use, otherwise you choose Manual Download out. The download is a little over 2 gigabytes.

Even without a mod manager, however, the installation is simple: You copy the downloaded files into the Data folder of your Skyrim installation (either Special Edition or Anniversary Edition). You can find it by right clicking on Skyrim in your Steam Library and at Administer die Option Browse game files selects.

Start your game and go to the nearest town and the quest should begin. However, it is best to do the Skyrim main quest The Way of the Voice completed.

More Skyrim stories and projects

Even after 11 years, Bethesda’s role-playing game is still far from history and is kept alive above all by the extremely active community. Just recently, for example, a co-op mod was released that lets you explore Skyrim with friends for the first time:

We had to wait 11 years for Skyrim multiplayer!

We had to wait 11 years for Skyrim multiplayer!

Of course, we shouldn’t forget other giant projects such as Beyond Skyrim, which wants to add entire countries to Skyrim, or Skyblivion, which will be a remake of its predecessor in the Skyrim engine. In addition, secrets that have been hidden for years are still being unearthed today, such as the existence of a garbage planet. We learned some of the most exciting stories from the developers themselves, take a look!

How do you like the new Warden of the Coast fan expansion? Would you have wished for such Bioware features in Skyrim from the start, or do you not need them here? Write us in the comments!
