In this article we bring you all the interesting projects on Nintendo’s console for the week of September 12-18, 2022. Between action, storytelling and card games, there really is something to do.

Little Orpheus

After an initial release on iOS via Apple Arcade, Little Orpheus is coming to PC and consoles, including the Nintendo Switch! Did you think that the new title from the studio The Chinese Room (Dear Esther, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture) has already reached its goal? no The title, originally planned for last March, had to be revised at the last moment because of the war in Ukraine. Viewed from the side, the platform adventure game features a Soviet cosmonaut. Well that explains it. Now the rocket is finally ready for launch. Inspired by classics like “Flash Gordon” or “Sinbad and The Sixth Continent”, Little Orpheus takes you on a journey through colorful environments, whether underwater, prehistoric or fantasy. Voice of the cards The Beasts of Burden

It’s already time for the third installment in the Voice of Cards series, a hybrid RPG and card game invented by Yoko Taro, the man behind the extraordinary Nier Automata. After The Isle Dragon Roars last October and The Forsaken Maiden four months later, it’s our turn The beasts of burden enter. Of course we’ll find them concept original de la license, namely a scenario, battles and exploration phases represented entirely by cards, with even a game master managing this pretty world. Big news this time: you can capture defeated monsters and turn them into abilities. Note that as in the past, The Beasts of Burden is an independent chapter, you don’t have to have done the others!

XIII reissue

If you know the comic book saga XIII, you know that its hero has amnesia. Well, for the remake of its video game adaptation, XIII Remake, we’re going to do the same! Because yes, remember. In November 2020, the first version of this redesign was released, which was riddled with all sorts of problems. Non-triggering scripts, misplaced checkpoints and bugs everywhere, there was something for everyone! Honestly, in our columns, we decided to give it a 6/20 rating. But the past is the past. In a few days, XIII Remake returns to PC | with a major update back consoles and a Switch version utilizing all fixes. What, fingers crossed, just play this cult FPS that was developed by Ubisoft at the time.

Blind Fate Edo no Yami

In a completely different genre, here comes Blind Fate Edo no Yami, a side-view hack’n’slash action game set in a futuristic (dare we say cyberpunk) universe. “It is a new Edo era, dark and controlled by machines, the shogunate rules Japan with an iron fist. Its law is just but ruthless, and to enforce it it can count on a merciless weapon: you,” the front page tells us. Everything seems one Solid cocktail d’action, with data to restore to learn more about your past; sensors to see enemy weaknesses; a bestiary that promises to be more than complete. All in all, we were able to record a great stress reduction. The icing on the cake, the implementation also seems to be holding up.

Wayward beach

Unveiled on PlayStation’s side more than a year ago, Wayward Strand seems to touch the heart with its slick artistic direction and setting like no other. Here you play as Casey, a little girl who is sent by her mother to a flying hospital (also housed in an old airship) for a weekend. The girl thinks about writing an essay for the school newspaper, but finds herself discuss with caregivers and patients bathtub and look for solutions to help them. But the clock is ticking. Wayward Strand relies on a constantly scrolling time system. If you do something: Everyone makes their own life. It’s up to you to choose which story you want to participate in. It’s fun.

Pretend

To complete this selection of Switch games of the week, we’d like to introduce you to Foretales, an adventure and card game that, conceptually at least, is reminiscent of Voice of Cards. Here everything takes the form of small colored rectangles in an adventure that takes place near the end of the world. “A terrible curse is ravaging the kingdom and the only person who can stop it is a petty thief named Volepain,” reads the game’s page. All of this shows a special treatment, whether in terms of universe or characters, even dialogues. We have a good feeling for this beautiful project!
