Elden Ring has been the victim of a major leak and the release date of its highly anticipated DLC has been announced in advance, but that’s not all. We were also treated to a few other surprises that should please fans of the license.
The GOTY 2022 may no longer fit in with the big releases of 2023, but the slightest bit of information about it triggers a real tidal wave. It’s been almost two years since Elden Ring came along to get everyone to agree. Two years in which the studio worked hard on the sequel. A gigantic DLC that should be released next year if all goes well. Actually, it’s a given unless plans change at the last minute. The exit window even leaked.
A collaboration and collector’s item for the Elden Ring DLC
Yes, leaks have almost become the norm. Either no one knows how to keep secrets anymore, or everyone has become hyperactive when it comes to detecting the slightest flaw in the industry’s hot topics. A little bit of both, definitely. Like many others, Elden Ring fell victim to a major leak that revealed not only a release date for the Shadow of the World Tree DLC, but also a surprising collaboration. It was the e-commerce site Datablitz that disclosed the information in advance by apparently unintentionally posting Xbox Series Trust Master controllers in Elden Ring colors online. A mostly black block with a few gold elements here and there.
The DLC release date has been leaked with more surprises!
The now-deleted product page also revealed another important piece of information, an output window. A description actually stated in black and white that the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the World Tree, should be released by February 2024. We don’t have the exact days, but already a month and not just any month since the game is celebrating its two-year anniversary at the same time. There is also talk of an anniversary edition of the game. We assume that this is a bundle that would blow out the two candles of the title in which we would find the base game and its DLC.
The collaboration with Trustmaster goes even further because it also tells us something about the future. We were told that this expansion obviously wouldn’t be the only one and that events and/or a new major DLC were planned for 2025. Some rumors have already said that, in addition to the Shadow of the World Tree DLC, other content is being planned. In preparation, FromSoftware has already stated several times that it has big plans for Elden Ring. Would a series of DLCs be part of this? Quite possible. But we’ll continue to take it with a grain of salt for now.
In any case, Trustmaster will celebrate the game’s anniversary next February together with FromSoftware and Bandai, and the DLC should tell us its official date shortly. We will see.
Still, we really want to spice this Elden Ring up a bit, don’t we?
