game news Big mistake: a voice actor reveals important information about the sequel to this cult game
Following the announcement at the 2021 Game Awards, Alan Wake 2’s release date will be revealed by a voice actor.
October 2023 would be the release date for Alan Wake II! The information was released by Matthew Porretta, the voice actor for the character of the same name, during the podcast Monsters, madness and magic published on May 20th.
“I’ve been working on it (Alan Wake II, editor’s note) – it’s supposed to be released in October (…) In fact, I was only in Finland last week – that’s where the company – Remedy is.” Matthew Porrette in Monsters, Madness, and Magic
Alan Wake II was announced with a first trailer during the Game Awards 2021. A trailer showing the author alone in the middle of a dark and foggy road, accompanied by his distress rocket. The game is still being developed by Remedy Entertainment and this time published by Epic Games. The trailer ended with a release date: 2023.
Stephen King in video games
The first Alan Wake appeared on Xbox 360 in 2010, later on PC, before benefiting from a remake on the current generation of consoles in 2021. In its time, the game will have defined the genre of survival horror thanks to its qualities, especially its scenario and its cinematic staging.
The game lets us embody the character of Alan Wake, a successful crime writer who suffers from blank page syndrome. While he vacations in the town of Bright Falls in search of inspiration, a horror book he can’t remember reading becomes a reality and captivates people. At the same time, the writer’s wife is disappearing and he will do everything to find her. A quest divided into several chapters awaits the bravest players. Obviously, therefore, we will have to wait until October 2023 to see the continuation of Alan Wake’s adventures on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, 13 years after the release of the first episode..
