On Sunday it’s time (at least in the USA). The overlong Droughtlander is finally over. Everyone’s favorite time-travel romance, Outlander, returns to the screens of Starz for the long-delayed sixth season.

Before the start of the new episodes about Jamie and his Claire, “Outlander” producer Maril Davis chats to the US side THAT ONE a little out of the sewing box. Read here which 3 things will be of paramount importance in Season 6!

1: Will Claire heal after her terrible experience?

The 5th “Outlander” season ended absolutely horribly for the main character Claire (Caitriona Balfe). She was the victim of a cruel gang rape. In Season 6, Claire’s trauma and healing are now addressed. Actress Caitriona Balfe also gave input here so that the new episodes do justice to her character and her story, according to producer Maril Davis.

Especially the relationship with Jamie will help Claire. According to the “Outlander” executives, the couple would often communicate through intimacy. But it won’t be as easy for Jamie to get along with Claire in season 6 as it was in the past. Her trauma is too powerful for that.

2: The Christies cause a lot of trouble on Fraser’s Ridge

The Christie family is fresh on the Outlander stage in Season 6. The strict head of the family Tom (Mark Lewis Jones) connects Jamie with a complicated history. Also, according to Outlander producer Maril Davis, Tom is “very passionate, very religious and torn.”

His daughter Malva (Jessica Reynolds), on the other hand, is completely smitten with Claire Fraser at the beginning of the new episodes. She has never had such a “strong female figure in her life” who also has equal rights in her marriage and is loved by everyone.

Her brother Allan (Alexander Vlahos), on the other hand, is more of the “unknown”. He stands in the shadow of his overpowering father.

All 3 Christies together will be a lot “Turbulence and Disturbances” to Fraser’s Ridge and Jamie and Claire’s home.

3: Roger and Bree seek their place in the past

The previous season 5 “Outlander” ended in a special way for Jamie and Claire’s daughter Bree and her husband Roger. Through the stones they wanted to travel back in time. They wished to go home, and the magical stone circle spat them back to where they had started in the 18th century. “Outlander” producer Maril Davis explains in an interview: “They thought about home and home is where Jamie and Claire are.”

In the new season 6 episodes, both are now looking for their place in the past. Roger considers becoming a preacher. Meanwhile, Bree tries his hand at engineering. She has to take special care not to mistake 18th-century people for “a witch or insane”.

Bree has seen what terrible happened to her mother before. That makes her “of course a little nervous,” says Davis.

Then the “Outlander” producer summarizes the upcoming 6th season with 3 words – and these are: “Trauma. Betrayal and Pain”. She also reveals that season 6, shortened to 8 episodes, “will definitely end on a cliffhanger.”
