Superman and Henry Cavill, it’s over. James Gunn and Peter Safran have taken over the DCU torch and a major spring cleaning has been done. Several projects are underway and the classic cars have mostly been thanked. Make way for a new connected universe that still has the man of steel at its heart.
Superman may no longer be portrayed by dear Henry Cavill, but the superhero will always have a central place in the new DCU. a new movie, Superman legacy, is on the way. The feature film is directed by James Gunn himself. Also, the script had time to finish before the writers’ strike that is currently blocking all of Hollywood.
The film has been heralded as one of the most important for the DCU’s future plans, and fans have been waiting in droves for the new version of the Kryptonian in tights. Then again, we know absolutely nothing about the movie, but James Gunn just gave us some interesting information about his cast.
From the MCU in the next Superman
You’ll recall just before James Gunn took the job, he said he loved the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and that he would see her in his next projects at DC. Chris Pratt himself had admitted that if there was a space, he would be willing to switch stables for a few films. Did you establish the connection?
Yes, James Gunn confirmed that at least from one of the actors Guardians of the Galaxy 3 would be present Superman legacy. In a small impromptu Q&A on social media, Gunn said yes to the question asked. He also claimed that Superman legacy wouldn’t be the only DC project we could find the Guardians in.
James Gunn, friends and family
Many online people automatically think that it would be Sean Gunn, James Gunn’s brother, who plays the role of Kraglin in the Protector of the Galaxythat would land in the next Superman legacy. Sean appears very often in his brother’s films, especially most of the MCU films, but also in The Suicide Squad. So it could well be that he will be part of the next one Superman legacy while playing at least a small supporting role. However, the door is not closed to the other actors. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillian or even Dave Bautista could also play a role. In any case, we’ll be seeing some of them back at the DC stables shortly. It remains to know where, when and how.
As for Superman legacy, the film is still planned for 2025. It will function as a reboot without going through the famous box origin story. If we certainly get to know what happened to Clark Kent before he became Superman, James Gunn’s feature film should do things differently. The synopsis remains vague for now, but Gunn claimed the film will be younger, but also and above all, darker than ever. The cast is still just as mysterious, albeit with a few names floating around like Madelyn Cline’s (Outer banks, Glass Onion) as Lois Lane. And we now know that an MCU star will be there too. We will definitely have more information soon. Certainly around the San Diego Comic Con, which will take place in July. A must for lovers of DC, Marvel and more.
And if not, Chris Pratt in Superman, Do You Believe It? (That’s a joke, he already does Mario too well)
