As a matter of fact
Note: 15/20
Super Mario 3D All-Stars aren’t particularly good at bringing Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy on Switch into the HD era, though the visual improvements are there. But just having all three tracks together makes it interesting. These are indeed three excellent games (even if the Gamecube opus seemed a little less successful to us in retrospect) that are full of qualities and that will keep you occupied for at least 45 to 60 hours. Even Mario 64, the oldest work, is still doing very well today, and it’s even exhilarating to repeat, under good conditions, a title that was so innovative and successful. The remastering work is far from exemplary, however, and in addition to some slowdowns on Mario Sunshine and poor quality cinematics on the latter and Galaxy, the Wii Opus controls, especially the pointer for picking up fragments, are sometimes quite tedious. . These issues are there, but they won’t stop you from enjoying the Three Marios. So we don’t sulk with pleasure. And as the plumber says: “Whouhou!”.
