By all appearances, Black Myth: Wukong looks set to be a pretty awesome action role-playing game with a Souls-like twist. But this approach also scares some players, because not everyone is comfortable with a tough level of difficulty. Now the development studio is speaking out.
The first trailers for Black Myth: Wukong made quite a few jaws drop. Not only did the graphics look almost suspiciously good, the bosses also impressed with their complex move sets and fantastic presentation.

But the bosses also gave the impression of being tough as nails, which fits in with the Souls-like feel of the action role-playing game. Nevertheless, questions have repeatedly been raised in the past as to whether Black Myth: Wukong could have different levels of difficulty.
People from the development studio spoke openly about this topic in an interview with Video Games Chronicle. But what was said may not please all of you, because Black Myth: Wukong will not have different difficulty levels.
However, the challenge in the boss fights should not always be equally difficult, but should vary over the course of the game. The reason for this is Game Science’s basic design philosophy, because the developers want you to really feel like a hero and develop through difficult decisions.
They explain their principles as follows: “When we were developing the game, we had to make some tough decisions. We decided to give the player many attempts so that after each fight they can consider what the best approach is for that specific fight.”
We will find out how well Game Science has succeeded in implementing this philosophy on August 20, 2024, when Black Myth: Wukong will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
