Recently, rumors emerged that Black Myth: Wukong could be PlayStation exclusive after all – but a renowned insider now clearly contradicts this!
The missing Xbox version of the current top action title Black Myth: Wukong remains a mystery. While it was initially said that problems with the Xbox Series S and a serious bug led to the delay on the Microsoft console, there was recently a confirmation from Paul Tassi of Forbes
In this case, we are talking about Jeff Grubb, who is considered to be well connected and well informed and who is now discussing the whole confusing topic in a new edition of the podcast Game Mess Decides According to him and his information, there is no agreement between developer Game Science and Sony that would initially bring the game exclusively to the PlayStation 5 and leave the Xbox out.
“There is no such thing as an exclusiv ity deal. And if you look at it closely, when has Sony ever made a marketing deal like that to get something exclusive and not shouted it from the rooftops? It’s just weird, that’s exactly what it is,” said Grubb.
According to Grubb, the only possibility is that Sony simply gave the development studio more support when it came to implementing and optimizing the console version, which is why Game Science may have focused a little more on the PlayStation release instead of splitting its own resources equally between the two platforms. But that has not been officially confirmed either.
As long as there are no confirmed statements from Game Science itself, we can only speculate about Black Myth: Wukong’s absence from the Xbox. Xbox fans will have to wait and see if and when the title will make the jump to their platform.
