There are further details about the missing Xbox version of Black Myth: Wukong as to why it has been postponed indefinitely. Previously, there was already talk of a repeat of the story of Baldur’s Gate III on the platform.
Further alleged details about the background to the still missing Xbox version of the current hype title Black Myth: Wukong are coming to light in the rumor mill. According to them, it is probably not just the less powerful Xbox Series S that is to blame for the action hit not yet landing on the Microsoft console and is currently reserved for PC and PlayStation 5.
Although developer Game Science has not yet officially commented on the issue, according to the reliable leaker eXtas1swhich has already attracted attention in the past with accurate Xbox leaks, a serious error is the main problem that causes the game to crash on the Xbox. There is said to be a “memory leak” error, which is why the successful title has been postponed for the Xbox for the time being for an indefinite period of time.
The waiting time could therefore be longer than expected because this serious bug must first be completely fixed; there will be no certification for the game by Microsoft before then.
The leaker received corresponding information from various Xbox insiders during gamescom 2024 in Cologne. In addition to the existing performance problems on the Xbox consoles, which also need to be addressed, the main goal at present is to fix the significant number of game crashes so that the so-called bug detection test can be successfully completed.
Only when the necessary certification can be obtained will there be a release date for Black Myth: Wukong on the Xbox. The game is said to have failed the bug detection test twice to date.
