The Nuketown map of Call of Duty has given us many joys over the years. It is an oval that houses a street and two houses with their gardens separated by several vehicles. It has had different versions throughout its history, but it has always maintained the same structure.
Don’t let its size fool you, though. It’s seen plenty of Call of Duty’s best multiplayer matches, some pretty crazy kills, and has some interesting secrets. Remember The Rolling Stones easter egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops? Activision kept it for Black Ops 2, albeit slightly changed.
In case you don’t remember, you had to shoot the heads of all the mannequins on the Nuketown map in a very limited time to hear the Sympathy for the Devil song play on the map’s speakers. Activision repeated the challenge in Nuketown 2025but this time the reward was a little more substantial.
If you managed to decapitate all the mannequins on the map within the allotted time, the television next to one of the houses would activate and you could play retro Atari games from Activision such as Pitfall, Kaboom!, Hero, and River Raid, among others. The twist was that your hands and the controller would turn into a pixelated version of DOOM. Needless to say, doing this in a normal game was very, very difficult, although you did become immortal while playing.
